Wii U functionalities to eventually shine, according to Miyamoto

Shigeru Miyamoto, at the head of Nintendo, has re-ascertained his belief that the Wii U platform is set to get good in time. He spoke on CNN - comparing the rather disappointing outing so far of the Wii U with that of the DS.

It was a very positive contrast, where the communication of the handheld's innovative features proved pivotal in the Nintendo DS's success story so far. Miyamoto explained "There was a period when we first released the Nintendo DS that people would say there's no way people can look at two screens at once".

Miyamoto added "I almost feel like, as people get more familiar with Wii U and these touchscreen interfaces, that there is going to come a point where they feel 'I can't do everything I want to do if I don't have a second screen".

At E3, Nintendo will have the opportunity again to show its prowess on the world stage, where it is expected to offer up more of its software.
